What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Mailing List Signup

When visitors sign up to my mailing list, I may collect their name and email address. I do this so that I can send email newsletters to my subscribers. I will only do this if I have explicitly received consent from them to send these emails.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site I may collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Contact forms and enquiries

When people contact me through my contact form or any of the other contact methods mentioned on my website, I may use the personal data you provide in order to respond to your enquiry.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Ads Settings.

Disqus Comments: I use Disqus to provide my commenting system. If you comment on my blog, you may save your details with Disqus and this will use a cookie to keep your details for the next time you comment.

Who I share your data with

I may share your personal data with other companies that perform certain services on my behalf. These services may include advertising, analytics, search information services, and supporting our website and IT functionality. How long I retain your data
